Bartinney Cabernet Sauvignon
Bartinney Cabernet Sauvignon is made from grapes from eight different sites around the estate-all of which have been vinified separately. Fermented for around seven days before undergoing a maceration period of a month, the wine was then pressed and racked off to French Oak barriques-30% new and 70% second fill. It has been aged for eighteen months before bottling and releasing at the beginning of January 2011.
Tasting Notes
The Bartinney Cabernet Sauvignon is deep ruby purple in colour with wonderful sweet delicate aromatic floral and fruit notes combined with caramel "crunchie bar". On the palate the wine is dry and yet full of ripe blackcurrant crunchy fruit, notes of cedar and coffee bean with developing tannins and lively acidity. This wine which will only go onto develop beautifully over the next five years has a fresh clean dry finish. Alcohol 14.5% -Tasted 13.04.11
