Craggy Range Kidnappers Chardonnay
This Craggy Range Kidnappers Chardonnay comes from the Kidnappers Vineyard in Hawkes Bay-75% of the grapes for this wine were hand harvested in bunches before being fermented in a selection of temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, large oak cuvee barrells and smaller french oak barriques-(225 litres). Once the individual wines had been made they were then blended to produce this really good chardonnay. Spending 5 months on its lees to mature the wine was fined and filtered before being bottled in October 2010.
Tasting Notes
The Craggy Range Kidnappers Chardonnay is pale straw in colour and streaked with youthful green hues. Lemon zest, toasted almond, flint and chalk dust aromas meld for an enticing bouquet. The palate displays the winemakers craft - that is the tension and balance between the juicy, zesty core and the coastal infused acidity and freshness-alcohol 13.5%-Winemakers notes 10.05.11
