Domaine de la Pigeade
After tracking up and around the mountainous roads-with great views of The Dentelles de Montmirail rocky ridges-you arrive at the quaint village of Beaumes de Venise-name originally coming from the rocks (Balmes) of the county (comtat) of Venaissin.- set within the foothills.
Arriving at Domaine Pigeade is akin to arriving at someones private home set in vineyards-only with a modern winery and brand new tasting room built on the back.
Thierry and Marina Vaute, the current operators, took over from Nicole and Claude, Thierry's parents who established the family home here around 60 years ago.
The vineyards are principaly planted up with Muscat although they do produce some Ventoux Rose and some Vacqueyras.
20 of the 27 hectares are planted with Muscat which makes them one of the biggest and best producers of Muscat de Beaumes de Venise in the village.
